Genesis can offer any significant cosmological insights, given the power of modern theoretical physics. After all, today’s science uses extraordinary mathematics to trace the origins of the universe to the tiniest fraction of a second after a cataclysmic ‘big bang’. In this chapter we will see that Genesis cannot be approached with a set of priorities and questions that belong to twenty-first-century science.
